TRB140 is an LTE gateway ideal for providing a mobile failover WAN connection.

Note, this device is not a router - it's a mobile modem with a single LAN port. You can connect it to the main router to create a primary or secondary (failover) WAN connection. It can also be used to provide an internet connection to IoT devices.

TRB140 is a tiny, lightweight, energy-efficient LTE Cat 4 mobile gateway.

This device works in Europe. It won't work in the USA.

Supported LTE Frequency:

  • 4G (LTE-FDD): B1, B3, B7, B8, B20, B28A
  • 4G (LTE-TDD): B38, B40, B41
  • 3G: B1, B8
  • 2G: B3, B8

Included in the box:

  • TRB140
  • 4.5 W PSU power adapter
  • 1 x LTE antenna (magnetic mount, SMA male, 3 m cable)
  • Micro-USB cable (0.8 m)
  • 1 x hex key
  • LAN cable

This device is "half open-source". The operating system is based on OpenWRT, so you can gain access via SSH, but you won't be able to install a different OS.

LTE performance

In our tests, we achieved about 24 Mbit/s download and 10 Mbit/s upload throughput.

For higher throughput, consider RUTX11 or RUTX12.
